Malaiya Marvel has been a staple in the Wisconsin performer scene for 7 years and is affectionately known as the Cosplay Queen of Wisconsin. Malaiya got her start at D.I.X. Milwaukee as an original member of the D.I.X. dollhaus and has since branched out to all of Wisconsin and beyond. Malaiya is a unique performer who combines contemporary nerd culture, with high fashion references to create her signature aesthetic. She has changed the landscape of Wisconsin drag by making nerdy cosplay drag more prominent through her cosplay oriented drag revues: Marvel Comix which lasted 3 years at D.I.X. Milwaukee, and currently you can catch her monthly at This is it! in Milwaukee hosting her newest show Mania! Malaiyas biggest accomplishments to date are being a spotlight performer for Milwaukee Pride, being a halftime entertainer for the Bucks, appearing on the court TV show Judge Jerry, and most recently hosting/ performing comic conventions including Anime Milwaukee, Daisho Con, Chicago’s Anime Central, and Iowa Con. Malaiya is the current reigning Mx Showdown title holder at This is it! and currently is the head judge of the month’s long competition.
